Safeguarding

Future Hub is wholly committed to ensuring that all young people who engage with us are cared for in a safe and secure environment. To fulfil this commitment, a number of safeguarding arrangements are in place.

Our Quality Principles

Safety and security where you live and in your wider environment

Safety is paramount across all our housing provision. Everyone deserves a safe, stable, and affordable home and to feel safe and respected within the community they live. We do this by creating welcoming, caring and nurturing environments.

work

Your voice is respected, heard, and advocated for

We place our young people at the heart of our organisation ensuring we listen to their needs and how they would like to be supported. By listening we can then tailor our plans and accommodation to help meet those needs.

work

Confidence in our team

We are equipped with a highly skilled workforce who have experience, the skills and the knowledge to be able to mentor guide and advise our young people and work with them to develop their independence for transition into adulthood.

work

A space you feel proud of

Our housing is high quality and decorated to high standards, to ensure that our young people have a place they can call home. A warm, bright and welcoming environment where our people can connect and build their own future.

work

High quality, tailored support that helps sustain health and wellbeing

We understand that we all need some support within our lives. We work with a variety of agencies and professionals so that our staff are better able to support our young people. By building positive relationships our young people can turn to us at points of crisis or change, our staff provide encouragement advice and guidance to help empower our young people on their journeys to independence. We believe this helps to develop positive outcomes in education, health and overall well being.

work

Strong, trusting and meaningful relationships within your support system

We believe that the development and experience of trusting, stable and nurturing relationships is key in helping young people to navigate through their daily lives. By helping our young people to develop self-confidence, self-esteem and self-reliance, we know that this contributes to a strong sense of identity and belonging.

work

Support for learning skills for independent adult living

Holistic development is key when taking the first steps into adult life. We give our young people support in key areas such as: finance, health and wellbeing, and finding employment or education.

work

Positivity about your future and opportunities

We give all our young people the chance to take part in one of our ASDAN programmes for promoting and improving their level of independence. This will help our young people to make the transition into adulthood so that they are equipped with the skills and knowledge to make better more informed decisions about their future.

Our Accommodation has all the health and safety requirements in place to ensure that we are compliant with guidance and legislation. We work with local authorities and commissioners to ensure that we are constantly quality reviewing our accommodation.

We will ensure that our policies and procedures are up to date and in line with published guidance and regulations including but not limited to section 23 of the Care Standards Act 2000 (“the 2000 Act”) and the regulations set out for supported accommodation in line with the first regulations.

All our staff who provide support work meet statutory requirements in relation to Disclosure & Barring Service - all staff are required to undergo an enhanced DBS check prior to employment.

The Designated Safeguarding Lead/Child Protection Officer(DSL)leads on Child Protection issues within the organisation. They are clear about their role, have sufficient time and receive relevant support, and training, to undertake their roles, which includes close contact with outside agencies including social services, the Safer Partnership and relevant health care organisations.

All our staff are required to undertake relevant safeguarding training and this is regularly reviewed by the manager. A training database for all staff and volunteers is maintained, while training needs are reviewed as part of individual reviews of staff and their continuing professional development.
